Hi and Welcome to the Grantable Blog!
I'm Sandy.
I'm the founder and grant specialist at Grantable. Grantable started as a side gig in late 2020 and has now been my full time gig for around 5 years.
I started my grants journey back in June of 2009 when, as a newbie grants officer, I worked in the disaster recovery space after the 2009 Victorian Bushfires. Since then I've lost count of the number and value of grants that I've successfully applied for, managed and acquitted. It is fair to say there have been 100s of grants with a value well into the 10's of millions. I've worked with local government (mostly), not-for-profits (some), community (many) and businesses (a few). My time as a board member for the Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation (now Foundation Murrindindi) was invaluable as I put on the 'assessor's hat' to review and assess grant applications.
I've had fabulous mentors and teachers along my grant journey. And now, through my services and this blog, I'm out to share what I've learnt. I'm the first to tell anyone who will listen that writing competitive grant applications can be learnt. I learnt and so can you. And if you don't have the time or don't want to learn - I can help you plan for and then write the application for you. When you are successful I can help you with the paperwork too.
This blog
I know it's dangerous to assume, but because you are reading this page I'm going to assume that you have some level of interest in grants. You probably fall into one of two categories - either a grant seeker or a grant maker. And if you aren't one of those, I hope you find something that will interest you enough to become one of the aforementioned.
Regardless of why you are here - you are! Welcome!
So, let me describe my blogs.
They are a mix of grant hints and tips, questions that might need exploring and commentary on and about the world of grants.
At this point in time, I don't do newsletters. My inbox is full of other peoples newsletters and while they are informative and useful, I don't often have time to read them.
So, if you want to know when there is a new post here on my website - follow me on linkedin.
Working with me
If you want to develop your grant game then you might be interested in mentoring (to develop skills and knowledge) or coaching (refining an application you're working on). If you want me to write the application, I can help you plan what you need, prepare supporting documents and then the writing happens. And for those who have got the grant, I can help you navigate the administration, reporting and acquittal.
The first step with every client is a conversation. This free 20 minute call is the time you decide if Grantable is a good fit for you and I assess the best way to help you. By the end of the call you will know if Grantable services are right for you and your organisation. And if I don't think Grantable can help you I will let you know.
I recommend before you decide, have a look at the services and about pages and read a blog or two. If you like what you see then book a free 20 min chat here.
Got a grant question? Something you would like me to blog about? Add it in the comments below.
